HISTORY:Mr Versieux was newly retired when he ordered this DSuper5 new. He only got the benefit of it for 7 years. After his death, the car stayed immobile at his partner’s house in Seraincourt in the Val d’Oise. His wife then died thirty years later. In 2011, her son decided to put the D Super 5 up for sale, which only had 21,875 kms on the clock at the time.
The club Idéal DS in Paris reported the car to a new member, Mr Belletti. He was specifically looking for a DS in beige vanneau, identical to his wedding car. Upon acquiring it, he revised the entire car and made it more reliable with electronic ignition, an alternator with built-in regulator and retracting seatbelts. The car was used for club outings, then was moved from the Paris region to Pornic, near to Nantes. After 20,000kms of trips out for pleasure, the decision was taken to put the D Super 5 up for sale on the internet.
The CT (MOT) was faultless and the car was ready for me to take to the road. The return journey allowed me to notice several niggles: an irregular idle, badly adjusted steering, the air intakes in the cabin, the rocker arms … on arrival at the museum, I set about returning it to a perfect condition and back to the original factory specification.
