MODEL:The AX is launched in 1986 and ends its career in 1999. It goes on to replace all the city cars: the LNA and Visa in 1988, then the Axel and 2CV in 1990 with the introduction of the 5 door model.More than 2.5 million examples are produced, the highest number of any Citroen after the 2CV.Engine: 984cc (1.0litre injection). 50Ch DIN. 4 speed gearbox.The Spot is one of 10 limited edition versions of the AX.

 

HISTORY: Mme Tessier ordered this AX as a replacement for her faithful 1960 2CV with centrifugal clutch. With this 2CV, it is impossible to stall.  After around 150kms in the new AX, she cannot go anywhere without stalling. She therefore decides to no longer use the AX and stores it next to her old 2CV.On her death 22 years later, her sister contacts the local Renault garage in the north of Le Mans to recover these cars. The agent Mr Heurtaut keeps the 2CV to restore it and advertises the AX on the internet. Mr Santacruz of the Provence 2CV Club is kind enough to make me aware of the advert and my friend Alain Pitot from went to see the car before I travelled through France.
